Anni Albers - Master Weaver

Anni Albers at the Tate Modern until 27th January 2019 - Master Weaver.

She combined the ancient art of hand-weaving with the language of modern art.

Who would have thought that one could spend a lifetime in textiles and not know of this inspirational woman. Her weaving is as relevant now as it was when it was first crafted.

From a student at the Bauhaus to teacher. Her geometric shapes and complex weaving

stand alone as works of art. I highly recommend you visit this exhibition.
