Hand Woven Ikat

Ikat is where the vertical warp threads are caught together and tied at various,regular intervals.

When tightly bound, the dye does not penetrate leaving the original colour intact.

After dyeing the bundled yarns, they are dried and opened up for weaving as normal.

This creates these lovely patterns.

Our Ikat is hand woven in Southern India and is soft and comfortable to wear.
